Its Headquartered in Penang, Xin Sheng owns a state-of-the-art recovery plant in Kulim, Kedah, a designated Plant occupying 16.14 acres of land, to deal with EAFD and BFD for the recovery of valuable metals like indium, lead, copper, and mostly zinc. This industrial facility, which cost RM60 million to build and addresses only phase 1 of the entire project for zinc oxide production, started its operation in 2019. We are at present taking care of 80,000 metric tons of scheduled waste yearly.
For stage 2 and stage 3 of a similar project, we are dealing with one more piece of adjoining 12-section of land in Kedah that sits straightforwardly behind our current operation. The 2 stages will be finished in the year mid-2024. Once finished, Xin Sheng is ready to turn into the first company in Malaysia to use electrolysis to recover pure zinc out of zinc oxide. The 2 phases are estimated to cost USD30 million on their completion.
